Very nice strainer. Nice weight, shiny finish. Slightly darkened gray/silver. The star-shaped holes are a cute touch. I like the large and tightly wound spring. Fits standard cocktail shakers. Very happy.

An absolute must have if you are mixing drinks. This Hawthorne strainer has a pleasant weight to it when in use. The generous handle makes using it quite easy.The strainer fits a standard shaker, and the materials used feel sturdy. The listing notes that it is dishwasher safe; however, I have not been able to verify that. Since it is made of stainless steel, it should not rust.I think this is a fantastic deal for the strainer's cost.

I have just started to make "fancy" cocktails. I started with Manhattans and Old Fashions. I noticed that pouring the liquids right on the big ice cube that it would take a little time to actually cool down the drink. I, personally, find it more enjoyable when it is chilled.I started mixing the drink with smaller ice first just stirring it and then using my fingers to drain it into my glass with the big ice cube. It worked well but did not look appetizing to my guest.I started doing a little research and found that every self-respecting bartender has a "Hawthorne Strainer" in their collection. I found this gold plated one and it matches some of my whiskey glasses so I thought I would give it a try. Man-O-Man did it up my game! Now I look like a professional pouring my cocktails...I even thought about putting out a tip jar just for the effort haha.The strainer itself is very well made and seems very durable. It does have some heft to it but is very easy to use, as well. For anyone dipping there toes into bartending this is a must-have item that I would highly recommend to my family and friends.

This is my second bar ware purchase from the Homestia brand - I’ve been slowly replacing my kitchen ware with all-black so that my tiny studio kitchen looks less cluttered. I love this little strainer, and will be using it for more than just cocktails, plus find that the black steel finish is durable and withstands handwashing perfectly. The spring is slightly larger than the strainer disk in a way that’s far more functional than the cheap item it’s replacing - it’s flexible and fits in many cup/jar/pitcher sizes.
